In the Ffin ethos statement there is a section that says a Ffin frame is “created for the adventurous, the outsiders, the creative souls that are walking their own path in the world”. So, in a chance encounter at the Hay Literature festival I asked my favourite adventurer and author Levison Wood if he would model for us! He loved our ethos too and said yes! “I absolutely love what you’re doing with Ffin — the concept, the craftsmanship, and the ethos behind the brand all resonate deeply with me. “There are lines to be crossed” is a brilliant strapline, and I can definitely see the link “
Levison is quite literally carving out his own path through this world, being best known for his on-foot exploration, not least walking the entire length of the Nile from its very origin to the point at which it meets the ocean. At Ffin there is an obsession with the idea of line, borders and frontiers be they invisible, imaginary or real. This struck a chord when I read Levison’s books during the time Ffin was being created. A man who has crossed so many borders and traversed frontiers without the restriction of a boundary, Levison embodies the spirit of Ffin through his bold curiosity and unapologetic individuality. His extraordinary life sparks inspiration through tales of danger and resilience, journeys into the unknown and an explorer’s curious and rebellious mindset. “Curiosity is what drives exploration” and it is this same curiosity that drives the creative mind fuelling our very own Ffin Eyewear adventures! (just with less walking….and crocodile attacks….;)
“Looking forward to seeing how this evolves and keep doing what you’re doing. It’s inspiring to see independent, ethical brands pushing boundaries.” – LW
Thankyou Levison for your support and kind words safe travels on your future adventures! Love Anna x
