Stockist questions and answers

Working with us

Do you have agents in my area?

We work directly with most of our stockists and are building a small network of agents in selected regions. Wherever you are, you will have a direct relationship with the Ffin team.

  • UK: as we are UK based, we can usually arrange to visit you in person.
  • EU: we travel to the EU regularly and may be able to arrange a visit.
  • US: we exhibit at occasional US shows, after which our director travels on to visit potential clients. Get in touch for our show schedule, or to arrange a visit on our next trip.

We also offer video calls and can send a sample tray so you can see the quality for yourself. Many new clients order directly after a few emails and are pleasantly surprised by the quality on arrival. We can also put you in touch with an existing stockist for a reference.

What languages do you speak?

We generally do business in English. But we also have live AI Translation support for phone calls, video calls and emails. You are welcome to send us your questions in your own language and we will translate and reply.

How large is a first order?

First orders start from just 14 pieces, so you can get to know the collection without a large commitment. After that, you can reorder whenever you need to, with no targets or tie-ins.

Do you offer exclusivity?

If you would like local exclusivity, we are happy to discuss that. We will work with you to understand the geographic area you would like to secure, the annual buying volume you propose and how can support each other to make that a success. Exclusive contracts have a higher minimum first order quantity.

Products and quality

Are cases and accessories included?

Yes. Most of our frames need a specially sized case, and we have worked hard to create sustainable accessories and packaging. Every frame is supplied individually pre-packaged with its case and accessories, so frames cannot be ordered on their own.

What if there is a problem with a product?

Every piece is hand finished in Italy by a family-run team who take great pride in their work, and nothing substandard leaves the workshop.

If there is a problem, send us photos and a description. We will review it with our technicians and, if there is a manufacturing fault, replace or refund the item. If we cannot agree, we will arrange for the frame to be sent to us or to an independent third party for inspection.

Are your frames certified?

Yes. Our frames are certified to CE and UKCA standards and we are FDA registered for the US. In some regions eyewear is classed as a medical device, so this allows us to ship to these markets easily.

Delivery, lead times and payment

Which countries do you supply?

We will supply any country it is practical to ship to. We regularly ship to the UK, the EU and the US. For other countries we check the customs and medical device rules case by case – most are straightforward. If your country has complex import rules, we may ask you to help us set-up the import process.

Where is your stock held, and what are the lead times?

Our frames are made in Italy and most of our stock is held at our EU distribution hub.

  • UK: we hold UK stock, so there is no import paperwork or import VAT for you to deal with. If an item is not in UK stock, we add it to our next import, or can ship directly from the EU if you need it quickly (with some import paperwork).
  • EU: usually 4 to 8 days, with island locations taking a little longer.
  • US: orders are consolidated and shipped from our EU hub. We consolidate orders to reduce the overall shipping cost to our US clients. Tariffs are managed for you behind the scenes. Express shipping direct from the EU is available on request, at extra cost.
  • Rest of the world: usually 5 to 10 business days, shipped directly from the EU.
What are the shipping terms?
  • UK and EU: delivered to your door with no import charges.
  • US: consolidated orders are delivered with tariffs already handled. Express orders from the EU ship on Delivered at Place (DAP) terms.
  • Rest of the world (or locations that have a customs clearance step): We will provide a shipping quote before you finalise your order. Usually we ship on Delivered at Place (DAP) terms, which means you will get an email from the courier to pay customs duties and clearance.
What are your payment terms?

New accounts pay in advance of shipping. Once we have worked together for a while, we are happy to discuss terms. Orders from outside the UK and EU are paid in full in advance.

Which payment methods are available?
  • UK: bank transfer in GBP.
  • EU: bank transfer in EUR.
  • US: ACH transfer (our preferred method, with a discount), wire transfer, or card.
  • Rest of the world: bank transfer in EUR (you are responsible for bank fees). We can also accept local bank transfers in a number of countries, which may reduce your fees – ask us for details.

Outside the US, card payments can be arranged on request and carry a 3% processing fee.
